WHAT I BOUGHT THIS WEEK | #21

I thought that the time had come for me to post another little haul on here, since I did get a bit spend-happy this week.  Technically the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick was bought in the first week of January, but that would have made for a long and boring post title!  

Im not going to lie - the No.7 eye shadow palette's rose gold packaging caught my eye more than the actual shadows inside, oops.  HOWEVER, on close inspection the shades in the palette are actually really pretty and very wearable for every day, the top row has light neutral shades and the second has some darker shades which will be perfect for creating a smoky eye look.  I will review this in full soon with swatches etc. 

Like I mentioned before, the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution I bought was part of the Selfridges January sale, and I treated myself to the shade Walk of Shame which is a lovely berry plum red.  If that makes sense.  Again, swatches and the like will follow soon but I've already worn it a few times and it is a beaut!  

I'm always up for trying new base products, and after seeing a lot of good reviews on the Estee Lauder Double Wear concealer I thought I'd give it a go, seeing as I'm already a huge fan of their foundation.  I'm really excited to try this out, my dark circles are a nightmare so I'm keen to see if this covers them well.  

I repurchased the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Dark Brown because it is my holy grail brow product, words cannot describe the love I have for this little pot!  It's £14 from Cultbeauty.com, and I honestly think it is worth every penny.  If, like me, you like a bold brow that still looks pretty natural then this is definitely the product to go for.  I apply it with the angled brow brush by Zoeva and it lasts all day, and creates a lovely strong shape.  

I've never tried any nail polishes by Ciate before, but when I saw these two gorgeous shades in TKMaxx for £3.99 each I picked them up straight away.  I got the shades Doll Face and Cream Soda, and these cute neutral colours will be perfect for work wear and will look pretty good with a tan in the summer I reckon!  Plus, how adorable are the bottles?!

WHAT I BOUGHT THIS WEEK #15

Hey!  I feel like I'm buying more haircare than make up lately, which is a little strange for me but there just seems to be a load of nice products out there at the moment!  I picked these up in Boots a couple of days ago when picking up some Rescue Remedy spray - that's what various people have recommended to me for my flying nerves so hopefully it will help.  

The first thing I picked up was the got2b Oil-licious Styling Oil by Schwarzkopf; this was a repurchase as I've used it before and it works wonders on my frizz-prone hair, especially during warmer days.  I use it on dry hair before styling it, so it stays sleek and shiny and it really does work!  

Another Schwarzkopf product I decided to try was the got2b Volumizing Spray Mousse, which apparently is the first of its kind.  I was intrigued by this as I do often using volumizing mousse but it can be a bit of a pain to apply - too much comes out and it can end up making my hair sticky and weighing it down.  This spray claims to add big volume so I can't wait to give it a go, I'm hoping that the spray part will mean that I can control how much I use, so a full review of it will be up soon when I've had a go.  It also smells like raspberries, which is gorgeous so that is a massive plus for it straight away!

Then I needed some new hairspray so I opted for the VO5 Ultimate Hold Hairspray.  I am currently using their heat protection spray and I love the smell of it, so that was what made me pick this one up, but also because of the claim that it has excellent hold, which is what I always look for.  It also says that it brushes straight out - another good thing because no one likes that feeling of having product left behind in your hair that won't go away, urgh!

WHAT I BOUGHT THIS WEEK #13

Hello!  I had the weekend off so naturally I headed to the shops: Boots to be more specific.  I can’t say that these are any things that I really needed, but all I needed was cotton pads and it’s no fun just leaving with those is it?! 

Garnier Micellar Water:   I bought this because I am already a fan of Micellar water by L’Oreal, but the size drew me to this because at £4.99 it costs the same as the L’Oreal counterpart but is bigger so in my eyes that equals better value!  When I have used it a good few times I will do a full review and see how the two compare.

Essie nail polish in Muchi Muchi:  I half chose this just because of the cute name!  This is a soft pastel pink shade that is perfect for office wear for a subtle bit of colour. 

MAC lipstick in Impassioned:  I ordered this from MAC’s website and it was waiting for me on my doormat when I returned home from shopping, yay!  I can already tell that this is going to be a firm favourite, I have been looking for a warm pink shade for months.  This really is my perfect shade for spring, it is bright and bold with warm tones and a creme sheen finish which I love. 

Barry M Nail Paint in Teal:  I love the metallic two-tone of this colour, and it is almost identical to the new mermaid style polishes that I’m eagerly awaiting the release of. 

Super Facialist Intense Moisture Mask:  This is my first purchase from this particular brand, and I’m really excited to try it (sad I know) because so many people rave about it.  I went for their moisture mask because my skin is definately looking dull and dehydrated lately, which is my fault because of diet etc etc blah blah, so it will be interesting to see if I notice any improvements in the state of it.

WHAT I BOUGHT THIS WEEK #12

Hello :)  It has been a very long time since I posted about my recent purchases, so I thought I would do one about what I bought on payday weekend (hurrah!).  I couldn’t let the Boots 3 for 2 offer pass me by, and I also needed (read:wanted) a new foundation so overall it was a successful trip for all involved.  Which was just me, and also my boyfriend who pretty much fainted when he saw how much a little pot of Double Wear cost me.

Autograph at M&S Pure Luxe Highlighter in Golden Rose:  This little beaut will get a whole post to itself with swatches and detailed photos, because it is the prettiest highlighter I have ever seen – I almost don’t want to use it, I’d be happy to just gaze lovingly at it!  This cost £15 at M&S and the quality is uh-mazing. 

Barry M Lip Gloss in LGW12:  I have heard that this gloss isn’t sticky so I’ve bought it because the colour is a gorgeous pale pink and hopefully it won’t glue my hair to my mouth on these blustery days!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair:  This is a repurchase, we all know how great this concealer is!  I used to find it sunk in to little lines around my eyes, but I find it blends well with a foundation brush, and for spots I usually dab a little on the offender with my finger. 

Real Techniques Silicone Liner Brush: I have been eyeing up all of the newest brushes from Real Techniques lately, but I decided to buy the liner brush first because it sounds like the perfect applicator for my gel eyeliner.  I am pretty used to applying it with a small brush but the precision can be off and you can’t always get a clean thin line, so I’m really looking forward to trying this out. 

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation:  This is an old favourite, when in doubt always go back to Double Wear!  The coverage is buildable to full yet has a gorgeous natural finish that in my opinion just cannot be beaten.  A classic that I would recommend to everyone, especially if you are after a foundation with a little more coverage.

What I Bought This Week #11

Well hello there!  It has been a bit of a while since I sat down and began writing a new post, it kind of feels like I’m starting from scratch.  I decided to take a break from blogging for a while as there was a lot of stuff going on, mainly a much-increased work load, and I was coming home in the evening feeling so tired that blogging was the last thing I wanted to do.  The blogging challenge I had a go at (#blogyoursocksoffseptember) was a great idea and I stuck to it forrrrrrr a fair old part of the month (!) but sadly life got in the way and my daily posts soon became every other day, and eventually none at all.  I am really annoyed at myself, because I was really enjoying it but then the pressure of planning posts every single day started to take the enjoyment out of it for me.  Apparently working full time and blogging daily was a bit too ambitious for me, but after a much needed break I’m excited to get going again and blog purely when I really want to!  That was a bit of a ramble, I started typing and it just kept coming!  I do apologise!

In other news, notable goings on in my life have included a night out that resulted in an impromptu trip to the fair (I don’t recommend the dodgems – my neck hurt for THREE DAYS after that), a standard trip to Thorpe Park, a random but fun Sunday night party in the work canteen of all places (as if we don’t already spend enough time there, but there was a good reason), and a whole lot of shopping.  Not the most amazingly exciting of things, but they keep me more than happy :)! 

SO, on to the make up products I have been buying lately.  As you can see, they are mainly products that have already been doing the rounds in blog land, and I just couldn’t resist trying them out for myself!  I am most excited to try out the Origins Clear Improvement mask, I have seen some of my favourite bloggers rave about it, and my skin is in desperate need of some sorting out right now so I hope that this is the product for the job.  As always, when ordering from the Origins website, I was able to choose a whole load of little samples as well which I think is really nice, and makes parting with more cash than I’d like a bit more bearable!  I could no longer ignore the hype surrounding these Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo eye shadows, I was put off buying them in the past because I was worried that they would give me those horrible creases that you get on your eyelid from cream shadows.  The No.7 moisturiser is what I bought using a Boots voucher, I have used it before and it was really good for my combination skin.  I have run out of primer so I thought that now would be a good time to try something new, I never buy any make up from Seventeen so I thought that their new primer should be given a chance!

Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation | First Impressions

 

Hey!  So today’s post is just my thoughts on my latest foundation, Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation.  I have only had it since Friday, but as I have used so so many foundations before, I can usually tell after the first couple of uses whether I really like one or not so I thought I would give my humble opinion on it so far.

Well, I have to say that so far I am not at all disappointed!  I was persuaded to try this particular base because of the range of shades they do, and I have hardly ever found a colour to really match my pale, pink toned skin.  I find that many bases, especially drugstore ones, have more yellow undertones that just do not look right on me and even the lightest shades are too dark, so I was interested to try out Illamasqua, whose shades start from white!  I decided to get the next shade up which is 02, an ivory shade with pink undertones.  I have to admit, when I first starting applying it, it shocked me a little to see how pale it was since I’m so used to having darker ones!  But it turns out that it was actually a perfect match for me, which took a bit of getting used to but I’m really impressed at how it blends so seamlessly with my own skin.  The consistency is creamy without being thick, and I only need a small pea-sized amount to cover my face.  The foundation it medium buildable to full in my opinion, which is perfect for me as I do love my coverage!  The staying power seems to be pretty impressive too, I wore it for around 7/8 hours one day before having to touch it up.  I would vaguely compare it to my special favourite, Estee Lauder Double Wear, because the matte finish is similar and the coverage is too.  I will definitely carry on using it and so far I am loving it, the only downside is that you get a pretty small bottle which is a bit of a let down when you spend £27 on it!

What I bought this week #10

 

Hey :).  So…payday happened.  Therefore, Boots happened.  And 3 for 2 on hair care PLUS buy one get half price on make up happened.  So to conclude, I spent some money! 

I love Lee Stafford products, so two of those found their way into my collection; My Big Fat Texturised Hair Super Spray and Detangling Spray.  The third product is Umberto Gianni Extreme Taming Spray.  Full reviews will come, but I have high hopes for these three beauts!

Next up is the Real Techniques Blush Brush.  I already have a few of these brushes and absolutely love them, so I thought I would add this plush looking brush to my collection next.  I also picked up MaxFactor Masterpiece Max mascara, Maxfactor are my favourite brand to buy mascaras from and this particular one is a firm favourite so I don’t really feel like I need to try anything new just yet!

Lastly I bought the oh-so-hyped L’Oreal Micellar Solution, although I found this on offer in Sainsburys, not Boots.  I have heard very good things about this, so I am really excited to try it out for myself and at only around £3 I am hoping it will be a regular purchase! 

So there are my latest beauty buys!  I will be reviewing them properly once I have given them a good try, so that’s about all I can say on them for now!

What I bought this week #9 (make up edition)

Hey!  So the thing about going on holiday in the UK is that you are still surrounded by familiar shops.  I found this out when I went to Norwich for the day as well as the local Boots near where I stayed.  I think that I can safely say that profits went up during my holiday!  So these are the make up items I splurged on whilst I was away (there will be another post featuring non-make up items coming up).

First I will point out that I technically didn’t buy the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray, it was a free gift with this months Elle magazine.  I’m sure you already knew that since it appears to have caused quite some excitement in the blogging world, and with good reason too because it is worth something like £7.50 if you bought this size from the shop?  I am really enjoying using it and it does give a nice bit of oomph to my hair, it looks more voluminous than usual when I use it and it actually has quite good hold too so it’s good for keeping the flyaways at bay.

Moisture Booster by Indeed:  I saw this on the bottom shelf when I was in Boots and I had a vague memory of seeing a good review of it on a blog somewhere.  It was on offer with 1/3 off so it was £16.00 which is not cheap but when I read the claims on the back of the box I was very curious to try it.  It says that it contains a pure form of hyaluronic acid which soaks into your skin and can retain up to 1000x more moisture.  I generally have dull skin and though I know that this is a lot to do with the fact that I don’t drink enough water (I can go for absolutely ages without feeling thirsty), I hope that this will help to perk the look of my skin up. 

Benefit High Beam: This is something that I now feel a bit guilty about buying!  I happily used my Technics highlighter for a long time, but it has finally almost run out.  But instead of being patient and waiting until I got home to order some more, I saw High Beam and thought ‘I’M NEAR IT AND IT LOOKS PRETTY AND I KNOW IT LOOKS NICE ON’, and before I knew it, I was at the till paying £19.50 for it.  Not a bargain buy but I will be reviewing this in full because I do have a major soft spot for it!

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs in Medium:  I have Airbrush Legs already in Light, but I arrived on holiday and it was really hot and I thought that my legs looked a little ghostly, so I upped my dosage to Medium, which isn’t too dark on me and washes off easily!

Real Techniques Stippling Brush:  I have another of these brushes that I absolutely love, so this was really just adding to my collection.  I have seen some great tutorials too where the stippling brush has helped to create a lovely flawless base so I can’t wait to try it out!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation & Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation: Two impulse buys that I have been using already for a couple of weeks so full reviews will follow!

Rimmel Sun Shimmer Instant Tan:  This is a wash off tan in Medium that I bought to put on my arms etc. when the Airbrush Legs was on my legs.  I have only used it once so far so I am reserving judgement on it still!

Rimmel & Barry M Nail Polishes:  These are my new favourite things and I will definitely be doing a full post on them very soon, they are sooo pretty and the possibilities are endless when it comes to creating different looks with them!

What I Bought This Week #8

Hey :)  Here is my eighth WIBTW post, I’m quite pleasantly surprised that I managed to keep them up this long – usually I forget and start another new series of posts!  I didn’t buy any new clothes in the last week, which is a bit of a shame because I need clothes more than I do make up and nail polish!  But never mind, it happened and this is what I bought, not a great amount of stuff but all investments I believe!

Collar Necklace: New Look sale, £2

I love this, it will add a little sparkle to my plain tops and saves me having to buy any peter pan collar tops, which I’m not actually much of a fan of anyway (they’re a trend that won’t go away but I’m more than happy to miss out on this one) .  I like the little soft gold beads that make it up, and I just think that it looks a bit more interesting than an actual collared top would.

Rimmel Lasting Finish polish in ‘sky high’: £2.99

I fancied a blue polish for a change, on closer inspection this one is a little darker than I first thought when I saw it on the shelf, but I’ve tried it out and I do like it.

Perfect Finish false nails: Boots, £8.50

I use these allllll the time!  They are great and with polish on them too my nails look like they have been done professionally.  I bought some false nail clippers from the beauty section of TK Maxx to trim them down because they are pretty long otherwise, and after a little dedication and patience..voila!  Lovely smart nails :)

L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Dry Tanning Mist: Boots, £10.33

This is a little embarrassing because this product featured in my last WIBTW!  I had to buy it again because I am really rather stupid and misplaced it.  I bought it again because I really enjoyed having this as a quick fix tanning product; I have been short on time lately and haven’t been using my beloved Cocoa Butter tan as much, so spraying this has been a great help and the end result is actually really nice and natural looking, so it was definitely worth the repurchase!

Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser: Boots, £2.37

What a bargain this is!  I have seen this product get some good reviews from other bloggers, and being the lazy girl I am it sounded right up my street.  I have already tried it and I can say that it is a life saver, moisturising in the shower cuts out all of the effort and time of doing it after!  I can already tell that this will be repurchased over and over again, and at £2.37 why not!

What I Bought This Week #7

 

Heyy!  As you can see this isn’t my largest haul..!  I have been very careful with my money over the last month as I am saving ready for my holiday in August.  The scallop top was actually bought a little over a week ago now, but hey ho! 

The Primark top is lovely and sheer, very light and summery and I know that I will be living in it come holiday time!  It fits nicely into my monochrome collection too so that’s a bonus.

 

The scallop top from Topshop was found alone amongst a rail of sale items.  I had to have it because the edging is different to the normal and adds a feminine touch to what would be a standard vest type top.

 

L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Mist.  Well I had run out of my trusty Cocoa Butter tan, and being the fickle beauty blogger I am, I tried something different rather than sticking to what I know!  I have used this today so as I type I am waiting to see the results!

What I Bought This Week #6

 

Hey!  My blogging has been really lame lately, with just the odd post here and there.  My latest excuse is that I had a week off work with my boyfriend (we work at the same place, which wasn’t weird when we met but became a bit of a challenge when he became my boss, but he isn’t now so it’s fine)and it was his birthday so we have been out and about.  The highlight of the week was venturing up north to Alton Towers, which is a big deal for me because I very rarely step north of Watford as the saying goes. We got to stay at the hotel which was lovely, and by the time we were heading home, I had begun to perfect my Staffordshire accent nicely. 

 

Anyway, on to what I have actually bought recently.  The bag is a bit of a lie because I bought it a couple of weeks ago during a trip to Oxford Street with my bezza Faye.  It was £28 from Topshop. I have had my beady eye on this for weeks, and am actually still quite surprised that I got it, because neon really isn’t me..usually.  Something seems to be occurring in my head lately, what with the purchase of a mint green casual dress and now this…I’m a little scared but I shall embrace it anyway.  I love the neat satchel style of this bag, and the fact that the long strap can be tucked away so it can be held by the small handle as well. It’s the perfect sixe to fit in my purse and a couple of other bits and bobs, and the colour will most certainly brighten up all of the outfits will I wear it with! 

 

Bracelet, £3 River Island

This is just a little cutie that is lovely and delicate, it indulges my love of religious iconography and is subtle enough to leave on and wear with absolutely everything.

 

Dress, £28 Dorothy Perkins

I am pretty sure I have got the original price of this dress wrong, because I bought it during one of Dorothy Perkins’ many ‘30% Spectaculars’.  Anyhow, I really really love this dress, I have already worn it to a fancy meal out with my boyfriend’s family and worn with red lips, it oozes the 1950s!

What I Bought This Week #5

 

 

Hey!  I am back after having a bit of a break from blogging, I suddenly got really busy at work and out of work too so my little spare time was spent on The Sims, with my boyfriend and even a cheeky little trip to London.  However in my time away from the blogging world I bought another notepad (I collect them.  Don’t ask) and used it to write down some ideas for new posts etc, so I’m really excited to start writing them all up! 

 

Anyway, these are not strictly my latest purchases since the post has now been sitting in my ‘drafts’ folder for a little while because I forgot about it, but it is only a week old so it won’t take too long for me to catch up with.  I have been really uninspired clothes wise lately, spring/summer collections just don’t seem to be anything special or different to previous years – there’s the floral trend of course which is a fail safe one for pretty much every shop, there’s a few various other prints doing the rounds again like paisley and geometric, and of course there is my personal most hated:  sports luxe.  That has been a ‘trend’ for a fair few spring/summers now, and I really really cannot stand it.  What is it all about?!?!  The clothes that fall under this description don’t seem to me to be anything special at all and always make me think that it’s just putting a name to simple things that most of us will want to pick up at some point, like crop tops and shorts.  If I see a high street store with a look book with this name it immediately puts me off and I go look elsewhere!

River Island Pinafore Dress: £22

This is one of the only things in River Island that caught my eye.  I am loving orange at the moment so I picked this up and plan to wear it with a white crop top or something similar.  It’s a little different to a regular summer dress so it will be a welcome change for my summer wardrobe, I just hope the weather is nice enough to wear it..!

 

H&M Skull Crop Top: £5

This was a bargain!  I always find something nice in H&M that is surprisingly cheap, and this is already becoming a firm favourite of mine!  It is quite sheer and light but it seems to be of good quality so I’m sure it will remain in my wardrobe for a long time.

 

Various Make Up:

I picked up a few cheap bits of make up that I had run out of, but I bought budget versions because well, I haven’t been paid yet!  I needed something for my eyebrows so I picked up a brow pencil and also a pen, both from MUA.  Since I have already been using them for a week I will be posting reviews on them pretty soon.  I also bought a new mascara to keep me going, which was Lash millionaire by Miss Sporty. Again, I have been using this for a little while aready so review to come!  

 

New Look Hair Clip: £2.99

I haven’t owned one of these hair grip things in ages!  I saw some really pretty ones in New Look so I picked this one and have been wearing it at work as a change from my standared high ponytail.

What I Bought This Week #4

Hey!  So this is a bit of a mixture of things, I bought the dress and rings a couple of weeks ago and the rest this week so I thought I would just throw them all into one post! 

 

Dress: Primark, £13

Is this the ‘Blogger Dress’?  I bought this in Primark and kind of forgot about it, until I saw some bloggers wearing some similar ones that were also from Primark!  Not that this bothers me in the slightest, I just find it a bit odd because 1) I have such a weird taste sometimes that I don’t expect to see anyone in the same things as me, and 2)if everyone has the same things and blogs about the same things then it can get boring, so I don’t want anyone to think that I’ve just blindly copied other bloggers just so that I can blog about it too!!  It is actually a gorgeous mint colour dress in a nice flattering style and it was £13 so I’m not surprised that so many others have it!  I’m going to look really stupid if it’s not the blogger dress and I just said all that for nothing…!

Herbal Essences Split End Repair Leave In Cream, Boots

I have such badly damaged hair that I went desperately rampaging through the haircare aisles looking for answers.  I found answers in the form of this, which also happened to be half price (I can’t remember the specific price but it was around £2.50).  I shall let you know if it works when I review it later on!

these were also half price and they’re a new addition to the Herbal range.  Aimed at damaged hair, I thought I would give them a go!

 

Boots vitamin E Eye Cream

Part of my new ‘panic buys since noticing lines forming around my eye area’ collection – review to come when I’ve tried it out properly!

 

Boots Botanics Eye Make Up Remover

I’ve not tried the Botanics range before, and having VERY sensitive eyes that often make me look stoned because they’re so red, I am hoping that this will be gentle and also beneficial to my peepers.

 

Morroccan Oil:£12.95, my local hairdressers

I just had to try this out, it has been hyped by soooo many people in the blogging and beauty world that I have to see what all the fuss is about.  I bought it in the small size just in case I don’t get on with it! 

  

What I bought this week #3

 

 

Hey everyone!  This is a rather small collection of items compared with last weeks, but I have to hold back on the buying make up/clothes a little so that I can afford to survive.  These are just some things I picked up over the week that I felt I ‘needed’! 

 

Revlon Lip Butter in ‘Peach Parfait’

This is a subtle but shimmery shade to add to my growing collection of lip butters, I picked it up and thought that the subtle colour would be perfect for work.

 

Seventeen Instant Glow Bronzing Rocks

I have always preferred this kind of face bronzer over the pressed powder kind, I plan on doing a comparison between the two different kinds in a few days once I’ve tested out this one.

 

Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze

I have been using this quite a bit already, I will do a full review on it soon but all I will say here is that I am seriously impressed!  (quite something considering I never have successful tanning experiences)

Hey!  Please note that these rather extravagant purchases (for me anyway) were made because I was caught up in the event that was Payday, a joyous occasion that comes round every month and causes me to spend most of what I was paid in one go and live off nothing for the next four weeks.  It’s a vicious circle but I see no end to it just yet as I am so bad at controlling my spending.

Anyhow, I ended up at Westfield this weekend, which resulted in the above purchases.

H&M Leather Look Gilet (£14.99)

I could not believe that this was only £14.99!  I had to look twice because I thought it was a mistake but nope, it really was that cheap.  I had wondered about getting one of these for a while now, and when I saw this and how much it cost, I just went for it and bought it.  I will probably wear this with various t shirts in summer and even over some of my summer dresses that I haven’t bought yet. 

Topshop Dungarees (£38)

I’m afraid that this little story does not end well.  I did not try these on in the shop at the time because I really really hate shop changing rooms, I swear that I never look worse than when I am in those things!  So I just picked up my usual size and hoped for the best.  When I got them home and tried them on they fit pretty well, but they shrunk me!  I am only 5’1” and when I put these on for some reason I seemed to shrink down to the height of an average 11 year old.  The shorts part of them also sat right in the middle of my hips, and the pockets are here too and they made me look really wide and more pear shaped than ever :(  So I am afraid that these will have to be returned asap. 

H&M Skull Print Lace Top (£7.99)

I bought this because I thought it looked cute and I can see me wearing it over brightly coloured vest tops etc, skulls seem to be a common theme with me lately!

Clinique Even Better Foundation (£23, House of Fraser)

I bought this because I have read some good reviews on it and I thought that for the summer I would like some lighter foundation that looks lovely and dewy but also still gives good coverage.  Apparently this does all of those things, so I will give it a try and expect a review shortly!

Benefit They’re Real Mascara (£19.50, Boots)

I have used this before and was rather impressed with it, so I thought that while I still have the funds I would repurchase.

Tea Tree Water (£3.95, Lush)

This is a toning water that supposedly helps calm your skin down and help fight any breakouts.  The day I purchased this was the day that I noticed some spots starting to form under my skin so I bought this as I wanted something natural to try that wasn’t packed with chemicals, so I shall see if it helps!

Rose Gold Style Skull Necklace (£6.50, Topshop)

Linea Bag (£63, House of Fraser)

This was my special present to myself yesterday, it had 20% off so it went straight to the till with me.  I can’t stop looking at it, it is a thing of beauty.  It’s pretty big and there are loads of compartments inside (the inside is pink!) and it looks way more expenive than it was even though to me £63 is expensive and yeah I love it!

Heyyy!  This is my first post of this kind I believe, I love looking at bloggers’ ‘haul’ posts and videos so I thought that I would try something similar myself.   This first post is pretty much all about clothes, but I don’t buy clothes every week (sadly) so future posts will no doubt contain beauty products and maybe even food and other miscellaneous items.  Let me know what you think of this post :) so here goes..

 

Topshop Neon Jumper, £30:

I have had my eye on this jumper for a while now, I don’t normally do bright colours like this but for orange or coral I make an exception.  I thought that this might go nicely with my monochrome trousers, and the colour is bold and summery so will be great for those spring/summer days that aren’t always as warm as they should be!

 

Primark Stacking Rings, £2:

Stacking rings?  £2?  Speaks for itself really doesn’t it, how could I turn these down at such a good old Primark price?  They’re a lovely celtic silvery style, there’s a cute little skull and some cute little dangly things that I can’t quite remember in detail right now.  Also apologies for the appalling photo, I snapped them quickly before moving on to the next thing and didn’t notice that they weren’t even in focus :|

 

Primark Cross Earrings, £1:

These were a mere £1 and it was another case of ‘I don’t care what they look like when they only cost £1’, but they are actually quite nice and the sort of thing that I would pick up elsewhere like Topshop.  I often forget to wear bigger earrings because we’re only allowed small studs at work so I’m going to make sure I keep these in a prominent place where I can’t fail to see them and remember to wear them.

 

Guns n Roses & The Beatles t shirts, both £8:

Band t shirts in Primark, whatever next?!  I’m afraid that I am of the opinion that band tees should only be worn if you like the band.  The main culprit that seems to pop up time and time again is the iconic Rolling Stones logo, pretty much every high street shop has stocked that at one time or another!  Obviously everyone should wear whatever they want, that is just my opinion!  I love both of these bands (who doesn’t), and no they may not be of some really obscure alternative band that only a handful of people know about, but they’re fab and they’re going to look bloody good tucked into my shorts  :) Primark also have shirts with Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones and Kiss so get yourself down there if you fancy any of those at £8 each!

Skull Print Scarf, £4:

 

Everyone seems to have a skull print scarf and I was quite happy to jump on that bandwagon when I bought this.  I just thought it was quite colourful and will go with quite a few different tops and jackets that I own. 

Exfoliating Gloves, £1:

 

These gloves are hands down (get it?……sorry) the best exfoliator you will use, including all of the creams and scrubs, and they also happen to be the cheapest!  I always use exfoliator gloves, they can be bought in Superdrug etc. for the same amount too and you just put them on when you’re in the shower or bath and use them on your legs.  They are quite rough in texture so I tend not to use them on my arms or body, but they are an absolute miracle for my legs!  I use these and then a good moisturiser or body butter and my legs are left so so so so smooth.  I really cannot recommend these enough, and for only £1 it’s win win!

 

Mark Hill Extreme Heat Protection Spray,  Boots £5.49:

I have run out of heat protection spray, my previous one was by John Freida and I liked it quite a lot, but I wasn’t totally convinced it provided that much protection from the straighteners or hairdryer so I went for something different this time.  I have liked Mark Hill products in the past, so I will give this a go and you will most likely see a review of it pop up sometime soon!
