THE MESSY BUN.

A messy bun is a bit of a hero when it comes to hiding a whole host of hair sins, and I'm definitely guilty of shoving my hair into one whenever it starts getting greasy.  I always read about how washing your hair too often can do more damage to it, so I always try and make it last as long as it can between washes - and this is where the bun comes in!  

Now that summer is just around the corner, I obviously love to have my hair in beachy waves or a messy ponytail, but for those days when it's not looking its best I have been putting it into a messy bun and accessorising it with bits like the above daisy hair band.  I love how easy it is to do, yet it is that little bit nicer than just having the bun alone.  

I put my hair into a high pony tail and leave some of it not pulled through the hairband.  Then I secure the rest with another hair band by loosely bunching it up into a knot on top of my head.  I tidy up any flyaways with some bobby pins, spray some hairspray on it to keep it in place and then place the daisy hair band over it all and pull out bits of hair here and then until I'm happy with it.  It's so easy, and it also works with bandanas/scarf ties, ribbon etc.
