#ARTYPROJECT | update 2

It's update time again, and this week I've been doing a bit more research for the blogger #Artyproject and getting my paintbrushes out for the first time in far too long!  I love portraiture, and with the theme for this project being Beauty there was no better excuse to start sketching my favourite subject matter again.  I love watercolours, so I took to Pinterest to look up some modern watercolour portraits - with some rather lovely results!  The collage I made below is made up entirely of images I found on Pinterest, with two portraits being painted by my favourite person ever, Marilyn Manson (yup, he paints), one by the uber talented Marion Bolognese and a couple of others too.

As you can kind of see from the collage, I am really loving the idea of bright colours all running into each other to create some beautiful portrait paintings, and in my first picture are some quick paintings I did myself inspired by this style.  I like the obvious beauty that comes through in these style of paintings, and I think using watercolours in this way will be interesting to experiment with and apply to some of the old Hollywood style portraits I plan to create.

I haven't really got much more to say on the project yet, it is still very much a work in progress!  I have to say though, it has been a great boredom buster whilst I've been off sick from work this week - researching for this + Netflix is a pretty good medicine! xx
