Hey! So today, everyone who is taking part in the #ArtyProject is giving a quick little update, which is actually a week overdue - but that's because we've had a lot more people join in and some of us (*cough*, me included) hadn't found much time to really get started yet! I wrote in more detail about the project here, and if you are interested in taking part too then just drop me an email at simplysarahlou@gmail.com.
The theme for this project is beauty, which could be taken in all kinds of directions. I have always loved drawing and painting portraits, so my initial (and pretty vague!) idea at the moment is to go down the portrait route and explore beauty in that form. I'm thinking of maybe looking at old hollywood and how that has influenced us over the years, how peoples' concepts of beauty change, and of course natural beauty too and how that is reflected in the media etc. It has been a long time since I properly sat down and did any sort of painting, but I love drawing and using watercolours and acrylics, so I will most probably pick one of these to focus on as a medium and go from there.

DeleteI really love the Hollywood idea, it would be interesting to try and paint it in black and white (like the movies) instead of colour. Looking forward to the next post :)
