I hardly ever post OOTDs, since this isn't a fashion blog and I definitely don't consider myself to be a leader in any kind of cash pack haha!  But now and again I get some extra free time and my boyfriend gets dragged from whatever he was doing to take some outfit photos for me, and here are the results.  

Clearly I haven't mastered the whole blogger pose thing yet, I'm too scared to have my photos taken outside and thus you get me looking like a badly chosen catalogue model instead.  Maybe one day I will venture out..who knows! 

This outfit is mostly showcasing my new spring/summer bits, the top and shirt were good old Primark bargains, the trainers got a post dedicated to them yesterday, and the leggings are my oldest and comfiest!  The bag was a naughty present to myself (like everything else I've bought this month, but whatevs!), from veryexclusive.co.uk - the new sister site of Very which sells some lovely designer bits and pieces.  

The outfit is also pretty blue, which was an accident but I have noticed that blue is everywhere this year; I love the colour though and think it looks fresh and a nice change from the really bright colours that were in the shops last year.

It feels quite strange doing outfit posts again all of a sudden, after not doing any in what feels like a veeeery long time.  I'm always really self conscious when posing in front of my camera, which explains my deadpan/bitchface expression in nearly all my photos.  I promise I smile more in real life!  I just had to share this outfit, as I love it so so much.  I came across this dress about two months ago now in Primark (I would think that it's still in stock - Primark in my experience isn't the quickest at updating it's range), and I immediately added it too my basket with no hesitation.  At only £13 as well, it really was a no brainer for me.  I think it's probably the kind of dress that would divide people and you'll either love it or hate it because of the bold print and explosion of bright colours.  Obviously I loved it, and bought it without even stopping to consider when or where I will actually wear it.  I just think it is a beautiful dress; the shape is shift style, but because Im so short it kind of swamps me and is a little long, so I had to pull it in a bit with a belt.  I plan to wear it on my holiday in August, although as I love it so much I'm sure it will have many outings before then!

Hey!  I’m back after another break..!  Not really a deliberate blogging break as such, but life keeps getting in the way of my posting in both good ways and bad!  I’m back now though and one good thing about not posting for a while is that I come back with some fresh ideas that I can’t wait to blog about. 

This is one of my two new coats, the other being from Primark.  I really love this one as it is pretty smart with clean lines and a simple shape.  The leather-look collar bits are what made me give in and buy this, I just think that they break up the design and make the coat look extra nice, if it was one material all over then it most likely would have something that I would take no notice of.  It dresses up the most boring of outfits, and is a bit of a change for me because my general rule is if a coat has no fur then it isn’t worth a second glance!  I have a backup fur jacket anyway, so it’s good to have something completely different for me.  The top is from Primark, and is one of many of things in there right now that looks far more expensive than it actually was.  If I saw this top on someone else, I would guess that it was from Topshop or even Zara, so I’m really happy to have found it for only £10.  The collar is leather-look, as are the sleeves and the main part is a really sheer, feminine style that again makes an outfit look that bit smarter.  I’m also wearing my beloved disco pants, I really have got my money’s worth out of these babes I really couldn’t love them any more; and the fact that they slim my thighs down is fine by me too! 

The only thing getting my majorly down right now is my hair…it’s is so frizzy and nothing I use on it works for more than half a day!  It’s frustrating because I don’t even have naturally curly/wavy hair which naturally has a bit more frizz, so any help or tips would be really really appreciated! xx

OOTD | Primark Fur Trimmed Jacket with Pleather Sleeves

Soooo, meet one of my two new coats.  I went into Primark about a week ago and I couldn’t believe the amount of great autumn/winter clothes they had, usually my local (ish) one is a little late when it comes to refreshing its rails… Oxford Street it isn’t!  But I saw loads of lovely things in there this time, and this coat was the first to catch my eye.  At £27 it was a fraction of the price of its other high street counterparts, and I just think that it looks like it is worth a lot more than that!  The fur collar is detachable (as if I would ever remove fur from an outfit), and the pleather sleeves make it stand out more than if it was all over khaki, parka style.  I have been wearing it every day since I got it, even on the days when it wasn’t even cold enough for a coat!  I definitely think that this is a keeper which I’ll be wearing for a good couple of years. 

In other news, my week has taken a rather embarrassing turn in the form of having to call out a personal dog trainer.  Yep.  My small dog that looks like a cute and innocent little teddy bear LUNGED at a man a few days ago.  I would love to say that it was a one off incident, but the naughty little git is a bit of a neighbourhood menace!  He has been lucky in the way that people tend to chuckle fondly at his barking/growling because he looks so cute, but it’s actually not ok so the time has come for a professional to step in!

OOTD | Primark damask top + Topshop fur gilet

hey :)  First things first, I feel like I must defend my hair, as I have just noticed that it looks mighty uneven in this photo!  I can confirm that I have just double checked it in the mirror and that it is in fact all one length, rather than the wonky mess it looks here.  I can only think that it was the clip in my hair that caused one side to look shorter than the other.  You may not of even noticed, but now me mentioning it has drawn attention to it so I’m stuffed either way now.  Ho hum. 

I haven’t done an outfit post in a long time now, so I thought I would mark the occasion by showcasing my first outfit of autumn.  I love the summer months and the warmer weather (when we get it) but I just love dressing in the autumn, from the darker clothes to the warm layers!  This top is probably one of my best bargains ever, it was £4 from Primark and I love love love the damask pattern on it, I think it looks a lot more expensive than it actually was!  The fur gilet was a Topshop sale find, I pretty much live in this when the weather is cold.  The trousers were another bargain from George at Asda, but again I don’t think that you can tell and that they could pass for something like Topshop or even Zara.. at a push ;).  I’m definitely all for finding a bargain, and even more so when it is pieces like these that look a lot more expensive than they actually are!

What I Bought This Week #7

 

Heyy!  As you can see this isn’t my largest haul..!  I have been very careful with my money over the last month as I am saving ready for my holiday in August.  The scallop top was actually bought a little over a week ago now, but hey ho! 

The Primark top is lovely and sheer, very light and summery and I know that I will be living in it come holiday time!  It fits nicely into my monochrome collection too so that’s a bonus.

 

The scallop top from Topshop was found alone amongst a rail of sale items.  I had to have it because the edging is different to the normal and adds a feminine touch to what would be a standard vest type top.

 

L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Mist.  Well I had run out of my trusty Cocoa Butter tan, and being the fickle beauty blogger I am, I tried something different rather than sticking to what I know!  I have used this today so as I type I am waiting to see the results! 

 

Not an amazing haul like I said, but I have been very strict with myself lately!  What have you been buying this week? xx

OOTD | Monochrome print top & patterned trousers

Hey :)  Here is me wearing my new favourite bargain top from Primark, it was only £4!  I was very pleasantly surprised to find it since I haven’t had too much luck there lately and also they don’t seem to be quite as cheap as they once were.  I really love the damask type print on it and the monochrome colours of course.  It is very light and floaty, perfect for warmer weather and the style reminds me of the sort of shape that a 60s shift dress would be, which is a firm favourite of mine so that’s a bonus.  I paired it with my other bargain favourite, my printed trousers.  I must have been feeling the whole texture/pattern clash thing today since I wore two different kinds in one outfit which I don’t make a habit of.

 

I also rediscovered one of my older Topshop lipsticks which is ‘Ooh La La’ and I can’t believe how I could have forgotten about it, I love the candy orange shade and it’s now gone straight into my handbag (only really important make up gets put straight into my handbag before being trialled in my ever-changing daily make up bag).

What I Bought This Week #4

Hey!  So this is a bit of a mixture of things, I bought the dress and rings a couple of weeks ago and the rest this week so I thought I would just throw them all into one post!

Is this the ‘Blogger Dress’?  I bought this in Primark and kind of forgot about it, until I saw some bloggers wearing some similar ones that were also from Primark!  Not that this bothers me in the slightest, I just find it a bit odd because 1) I have such a weird taste sometimes that I don’t expect to see anyone in the same things as me, and 2)if everyone has the same things and blogs about the same things then it can get boring, so I don’t want anyone to think that I’ve just blindly copied other bloggers just so that I can blog about it too!!  It is actually a gorgeous mint colour dress in a nice flattering style and it was £13 so I’m not surprised that so many others have it!  I’m going to look really stupid if it’s not the blogger dress and I just said all that for nothing…!

I have such badly damaged hair that I went desperately rampaging through the haircare aisles looking for answers.  I found answers in the form of this, which also happened to be half price (I can’t remember the specific price but it was around £2.50).  I shall let you know if it works when I review it later on!

What I Bought This Week #1

Heyyy!  This is my first post of this kind I believe, I love looking at bloggers’ ‘haul’ posts and videos so I thought that I would try something similar myself.   This first post is pretty much all about clothes, but I don’t buy clothes every week (sadly) so future posts will no doubt contain beauty products and maybe even food and other miscellaneous items.  Let me know what you think of this post :) so here goes..

 

Topshop Neon Jumper, £30:

I have had my eye on this jumper for a while now, I don’t normally do bright colours like this but for orange or coral I make an exception.  I thought that this might go nicely with my monochrome trousers, and the colour is bold and summery so will be great for those spring/summer days that aren’t always as warm as they should be!

 

Primark Stacking Rings, £2:

Stacking rings?  £2?  Speaks for itself really doesn’t it, how could I turn these down at such a good old Primark price?  They’re a lovely celtic silvery style, there’s a cute little skull and some cute little dangly things that I can’t quite remember in detail right now.  Also apologies for the appalling photo, I snapped them quickly before moving on to the next thing and didn’t notice that they weren’t even in focus :|

 

Primark Cross Earrings, £1:

These were a mere £1 and it was another case of ‘I don’t care what they look like when they only cost £1’, but they are actually quite nice and the sort of thing that I would pick up elsewhere like Topshop.  I often forget to wear bigger earrings because we’re only allowed small studs at work so I’m going to make sure I keep these in a prominent place where I can’t fail to see them and remember to wear them.

 

Guns n Roses & The Beatles t shirts, both £8:

Band t shirts in Primark, whatever next?!  I’m afraid that I am of the opinion that band tees should only be worn if you like the band.  The main culprit that seems to pop up time and time again is the iconic Rolling Stones logo, pretty much every high street shop has stocked that at one time or another!  Obviously everyone should wear whatever they want, that is just my opinion!  I love both of these bands (who doesn’t), and no they may not be of some really obscure alternative band that only a handful of people know about, but they’re fab and they’re going to look bloody good tucked into my shorts  :) Primark also have shirts with Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones and Kiss so get yourself down there if you fancy any of those at £8 each!

Skull Print Scarf, £4:

 

Everyone seems to have a skull print scarf and I was quite happy to jump on that bandwagon when I bought this.  I just thought it was quite colourful and will go with quite a few different tops and jackets that I own. 

Exfoliating Gloves, £1:

 

These gloves are hands down (get it?……sorry) the best exfoliator you will use, including all of the creams and scrubs, and they also happen to be the cheapest!  I always use exfoliator gloves, they can be bought in Superdrug etc. for the same amount too and you just put them on when you’re in the shower or bath and use them on your legs.  They are quite rough in texture so I tend not to use them on my arms or body, but they are an absolute miracle for my legs!  I use these and then a good moisturiser or body butter and my legs are left so so so so smooth.  I really cannot recommend these enough, and for only £1 it’s win win!

 

Mark Hill Extreme Heat Protection Spray,  Boots £5.49:

I have run out of heat protection spray, my previous one was by John Freida and I liked it quite a lot, but I wasn’t totally convinced it provided that much protection from the straighteners or hairdryer so I went for something different this time.  I have liked Mark Hill products in the past, so I will give this a go and you will most likely see a review of it pop up sometime soon!

Hey!  I hope you are having a good Monday (!), just thought I would share today’s outfit with you before I have to change into my work stuff once again ):.  I have had this top for ages now, but I do feel a little pleased with myself that I kept it, because I can pass it off as a piece that I deliberately acquired as part of the monochrome trend that is absolutely everywhere.  I love timeless clothes that you can wear season after season, I don’t follow trends religiously at all, I buy whatever I see that I like and don’t worry about if it is in all the s/s or a/w lookbooks or not!  This is probably why not much of my stuff particularly matches, but I think (hope) that I generally get away with this because a lot of my clothes are of similar colours, namely black! 

 

The leggings are from Topshop, they’re black velvet with little gold studs all over them.  I should probably refrain from wearing black velvet for now, since it is April and lighter more summery things should be worn, but this is England and the weather just isn’t that kind here! 

 

The cardi is something I find myself wearing a LOT!  It is soooo snug and warm that I never want to take it off.  I love the colour of it too, I always go for this khaki shade of green when buying jackets or things like this. 

 

In other news, I decided to try the 30 Day Squat Challenge as of yesterday, and speaking from day 2 of it, I can safely say that it is killing me.  Immediately after I did them yesterday I didn’t feel too bad, and because of this I thought that I must be doing them wrong somehow.  But I woke up this morning and oh.  my.  god.  My thighs are soooo painful, it hurts to sit down and it hurts to stand up again and it hurts to walk too.  I soldiered on through the pain to complete day 2 and now I am just on new levels of pain.  I am dreading work later, I’m walking around really weirdly without bending my knees so someone is bound to notice and question me and possibly laugh.  Yay!xx

 

 

OOTD | Bad Medicine is What I Need

Hey everyone :).  Thought I would liven up my usually plain background that I used for photos by relocating to in front of the Christmas tree!  May I add that the tree was decorated by moi, I take great pride in carefully placing every bauble and ribbon..!  

I wore this simple outfit to go Christmas shopping today on my day off.  Some may say that most Christmas shopping should be done by now, which is probably true, but I seem to work best under pressure generally.  HOWEVER, today I came back with only wrapping paper and some sweets from Poundland, when I had gone there intending to buy 3 different people’s presents.  This = panic mode and fury at self.  The only positive is that I’m furious with myself whilst eating Cadbury’s Animal Biscuits. 

Moving on, the top is quite old but is an old favourite because the little velvety collar instantly makes a casual outfit a bit nicer.  The trousers are River Island’s answer to disco pants, and even though they are a little long on me, I love them and they are really comfy and flattering.  xx

Just noticed how bad my nails look, sorry about that!  My outfit isn't anything special today, I really just wanted to showcase my new bargain bag!  Union Jack accessories are everywhere at the moment, and when I saw this back it reminded me of Ollie from 'Made In Chelsea', who has loads of things including a car in this print hahah.  The jumper is one that I always put on if I can't be bothered to make too much of an effort, because it looks fairly pretty and it has pink on it which is always a win!  The bag is actually pretty big, it only cost me £8 as well which is ridiculously cheap and meant that really I had no choice but to buy it!  

FINALLY saw Titanic 3D yesterday with Faye, we were the only ones in there watching yesterday which was strange but pretty good for us as we could sit where we wanted and talk/sob without being shhhh'ed!! xx

This top is one of the only things I have spotted in Primark since before Christmas, I never used to be very fussed over peter pan collars but lately they have been growing on me and I think they are quite feminine and can make an outfit instantly quirkier (if that makes sense....probably not!).  I put the longer top underneath it because it has pockets and in my mind this makes it a suitable replacement for a skirt or trousers!  I tried it with jeans but it just didn't look right, and I think this way it has more of a softer look that emphasises the feminine style.  I tried a mini beehive again, and it worked a little better this time and lasted longer.  

I also got a lipstick in coral by Miss Sporty, which I think is really good value for money.  The colour is fairly bold and summery, and also it doesn't last for a great deal of time, it feels moisturising and you can build it up depending on how soft or bold you want it.  Happy Friday! xx

smallest. 'haul'. ever.

Quite a quick post today but I just wanted to upload a couple of pics of a ring I picked up on Ebay!  It was about £2 so a real bargain, and I love crosses in all shapes and styles so this caught my eye straight away.  The lighting was poor today so I stuck a vintage filter on the photos and toned it down a bit, so the colours are all kind of muted.  The jumper is one I got from Primark last year when I went through a huge phase of buying everything in 'camel' shades!  One thing that these photos have shown me is that I need to look for another concealer :(  Oh well, of to work I go! xx

I had to have this 60s style shift dress when I saw it in Topshop last year!  The peter pan collar is simple and  gives it a girly feel.  I love vintage styles and the 60s era is one of my favourites because the shapes are flattering and feminine.  I am definitely going to try and experiment with beehive type looks for my hair, sometimes I have one but because my hair is pretty long it doesn't hold that well and after a couple of hours it goes back to looking normal again!  The coat is one I picked up in Primark a couple of years ago now, and I only really wear it when I have these type of outfits on that are the same length and style, because I think it works best with them, rather than having something longer underneath it.  I love costume jewellery and I stuck with these two rings today as I don't think a necklace would work with the dress.  Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday! xx

The freezing cold weather has only one plus side in my opinion, and that is it's the perfect time for (faux) fur coats!  This one is my new favourite, I got it in the Topshop sale just before Christmas, after resisting it for ages when it was full price!  It is one size too big for me because my size was sold out, but I don't think it is that noticeably big.  The headband is from Primark and was something like £2, and as it is not an actual hat, you can wear it without getting total hat-hair!  I've been looking at scarf print jeans today, I love them but not sure I would wear them...but being so weak I'm pretty sure I will cave in and get some sooner or later!  xx
