THE PHRASE NO BEAUTY BLOGGER WANTS TO HEAR: 'SPENDING BAN'

Yes, it has come to this.  Two words that I feared ever having to associate with.

I've decided to impose a spending ban on myself for a few reasons: when I was sorting out my make up bits and making room for new things and Christmas presents etc that I'd got, I realised that so many of the things I own are hardly used and left in my dressing table/storage because I buy new products all the time.  I had even forgotten many of the products that I own, so I thought what better way to both get using them again and save some money than to go on a spending ban!
I would be lying if I said that I'm looking forward to this, but I reckon that I'm up to the challenge.  The plan is to keep this up for two months, and then check up on how much money I've saved and how many old favourites I've rediscovered.
I've still got some blog posts planned that are reviews of products that I've recently bought, but apart from those there won't be any new things on here for a little while - a thought that makes my blood run cold believe me!
However, I am looking forward to sharing with you how I'm getting on and what make up I'm using etc, so watch this space!

Let me know if you are doing anything similar, and if you have any tips for me! xx

  1. I seriously need to do this! I always end up falling in love with old products again when I find them in the depths of my cupboards x

  2. I was on a spending ban this month, but I've just spent £100 on Missguided and bought a Zara bag in the sale. I haven't bought any make-up so that's a positive haha

  3. Gosh, your very brave! I think the best thing is to just give yourself a punishment if you buy anything!

  4. I recently de cluttered my makeup and found alot unused! One thing i did when i was on a spending ban is put all your beauty related emails into spam so they won't tempt you! x

  6. Good luck lovely. Even when I'm pretty broke and really don't have the money to spend on anything I can't bring myself to actually think the words 'spending ban'! x

  7. I don't think I'm strong enough not to buy anything for longer period of time, haha! But I feel the same way like you, I have so many products that are just gathering dust that I need to start using them up instead of just keep buying something new. I'm planning to try not to buy any makeup in January and it that goes well maybe even in February. Good luck with your spending ban! x

  8. Having a "shop my stash" type attitude definitely helps me avoid additional spending. Or trying the one in, one out mentality! But good luck and I hope you're able to keep to it :)
