FAVOURITES WEEK | HIGH END MAKE UP

I thought that this week should be dedicated to all my most favourite products - both high end and drugstore!  I have done a couple of posts before here and here on my favourite pocket friendly and more expensive make up bits, but I thought that the time was right to do an update and also throw in some posts on my favourite skincare too.
Today's post is looking at my favourite high end products, which are probably the things that I get most excited about: I treat myself to one or two bits after pay day and then gush over how pretty they look/ how amazing they are for longer than is probably necessary.

Obviously Charlotte Tilbury has made it once more to the list, and the only eye shadow palette I own by her is the Dolce Vita one, which has a beautiful highlight shade, two deeply pigmented bronze/red shades and a gold glittery top shade.  I pick this up every time I do my make up for a night out, and it never fails to create a smouldering smokey look.  I'd love to try more from Charlotte's eye shadow range, it's definitely the best palette I've ever owned.  I own one lovely product by Tom Ford and it's a lipstick in the shade Spanish Pink.  I've already used it so much, which is a bit worrying as there is now only around half left - nooo! This is a super moisturising peachy nude shade which really flatters my skin tone and lasts for a long time too.
My favourite concealer, which I will always repurchase, is Estee Lauder Double Wear.  I use it for both spots and my dark circles, and it is the most effective at covering them whilst not being too thick or difficult to blend.  The most special thing I've found about this is that it doesn't crease or sink in to those pesky little lines under my eyes.
I was ridiculously slow to the NARS party, after trying Sheer Glow and being underwhelmed by it a long time ago.  However, recently I've given it another go and have discovered two gems that I couldn't now live without: NARS blush in Orgasm and the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bettina.  Orgasm blush is a pinky red shade that gives a classic english rose glow with only the smallest sweep.  Bettina is a pencil that glides on like a satin lipstick, is a nude shade with a hint of pink shimmer (looks much better than that sounds) and stays put for ages.  I love the unique colour the most, but I also love how with the pencil you can really make a good shape and be more precise around your cupid's bow etc than you would be with a regular lipstick.
Last up is Laura Mercier Silk Creme Photo Edition foundation has just had a mention on the blog here, but it really deserves its place here as my holy grail base - yep I said it!  I've tried so so many foundations, and this one is the one that I just cannot fault.  The coverage is full but it's still lightweight, the range of colours is perfect and I can get an excellent match for my skin tone, and the finish is that coveted matte-but-with-a-hint-of-glow.  Perfect!

Next up, I will raving about my favourite drugstore make up products!  What are your favourite high end bits?  Do you love any of these? xx
