HIGH END VS HIGH STREET | HIGH STREET / DRUGSTORE FAVOURITES

Last week I shared some of my favourite high end beauty bits, so today it is the turn of my most loved make up products from the drugstore.  Again, I found it really difficult to narrow it down to just a few products but here are the bits that I find myself reaching for the most.

Maybelline Nude Sensation lipstick in Velvet Beige:  This has been my go-to lipstick throughout autumn this year, I have reviewed it already here and it is the perfect dark nude to get that beaut Kylie Jenner 90s look.  The quality of the lipstick is excellent too, with great pigmentation and a good stay time of a few hours.  It has been picked up off my dressing table more than my high end lip products, which I think says a lot about the quality of it!

Rimmel Stay Matte powder:  This pressed powder is perfect for sweeping all over the face and setting make up.  I use it in the morning to lightly dust over my foundation, then carry it in my handbag to keep away unwanted shine at bay.  It is a bargain buy, and I've never found it necessary to look for another brand yet.

Maxfactor False Lash Effect mascara:  this has been my holy grail mascara for years now!  I really cannot fault it in any way - it lengthens my lashes dramatically as well as giving them a good bit of volume without making them look too spidery.  I try new mascaras quite often just to switch up and experiment, and though I've found a couple that I love a lot, none have ever made me want to give up this one!

Collection Lasting Perfection concealer:  Well I think we all know by now that this concealer is pretty much the stuff of blogger legends; it is the only one that completely covers the dark craters that are my under eye circles, and it also easily conceals any pesky spots I have.  It's another product I always repurchase because I know it works, so I don't feel like I need to try any more just yet.

Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation:  I love the smell of this foundation!  So fruity and light, and on application it is easy to blend and doesn't feel heavy or like it's clogging up the pores. I would recommend this as a base above other high street foundations if you a looking for a buildable coverage that has a dewy, natural skin but better finish.

Finally, of course I had to include the wonderful Maybelline Color Drama lip pencils!  My favourite is this one which is Keep It Classy, a plum shade that is perfect for finishing off a winter make up look, worn with a layered up outfit or a little black dress!  They are a perfect dupe for a certain high end lip pencil too - at only £4.99 as well so you really cannot go wrong.

I could have picked loads more products of course, but these are just a few of my special favourites!  What are your staple drugstore make up products? xx

  7. I love the formula of the Collection concealer - just wish it had more shades :( I really like the Stay Matte powder unless I'm having photos otherwise it makes my face so white lol. I guess you can't complain for that price though and very little stops my shine like it does xx
