Hello!  This post was one that I wrote especially as a guest post for the lovely Katie Ann etc, I just thought I would share it on mine too :)
I found it quite hard to pick five products that I would call holy grail, because 1)I can be fussy! and 2)to me holy grail suggests something so good that I wouldn’t need to try anything else, which I find hard because my whole obsession with make up is about trying new things all the time (unfortunately for my bank account).  But I’ve come up with five things that I rely on and use every day; things that I personally think are hard to beat.
Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti: It might seem a bit strange to rave about a lip product in a particular colour, but this little beaut popped into my head straight away.  Tutti Frutti is a bright, summery orange shade that can be built up depending on how bold you like it to be; in the photo I have just one slick one which is how I wear it day to day, but with a layer or two more it can become a vibrant shade ideal for the evening.  The formula is incredibly moisturising for a colour lip product, and the colour is one that I think would suit most if not all skin types.  As for the rest of the Lip Butter range, there is a colour quite literally for everyone!  I have a fair few, but Tutti Frutti is my favourite – I have two, one for home and one that stays in my handbag!
Maybelline Lasting Drama Eyeliner:  This little pot doesn’t look much but as you can probably tell from the photo, it is very well loved.  I bought this because I love to do a cat flick on my eyes and was getting fed up of using felt tip eyeliners that just didn’t have great lasting power.  This one by Maybelline comes with its own little brush and it’s a thick gel formula that is easy to apply.  I love it because it lasts all day long without fading or smudging, and the pigment is absolutely fantastic – it’s the blackest colour you will find!  It also lasts a ridiculously long time, I’m on my second pot but I bought it months ago and there is still over half left.
Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder:  This product is a bit of a splurge at around £18.50, but I bought it because I have really bad dark circles and was unhappy with the results I was getting from using setting powder under my eyes.  I apply this over the concealer I use, and it just sets it in place and prevents fading etc.  More than that though, this little miracle brightens the under eye area even more than the concealer does, and looks so natural that you wouldn’t even know that anything was there.  The best thing about this though, is that it doesn’t sink in to any tiny little lines.  There’s nothing worse than getting the dark circles covered only to find that an hour later you have lines you never even knew existed where the product has sunk in!
Estee Lauder Double Wear Camouflage Foundation:  I’m sure you have heard about this blogger favourite before, but Double Wear just had to make it on to my holy grail list!  I use it whenever I am having a breakout, the smallest amount covers your entire face and gives excellent full coverage.  It even works as just a concealer if you don’t fancy full coverage on your whole face, I really cannot recommend it enough.
Benefit Hoola:  I only recently discovered this famous Benefit bronzer, I was looking for a product to give me a bit of colour without looking orange or shimmery. I got this home and tried it, and really could not believe that I hadn’t used it before – it’s perfect!  The colour is subtle but buildable without looking orange at all, there is no shimmer added to it so it doesn’t look fake, and it is absolutely perfect for contouring.  I have been using it to carve out cheekbones, having been blessed with a rather round face (read: bowling ball shaped) I struggled to create shape with blush alone, and this product (along with an Illamasqua cream pigment) has enabled me to add some definition.
So those are my holy grail products!  I highly recommend each of them, they are complete staples in my make up bag and will be for a very long time.  Do you like any of these products?  Are there any that you fancy trying?
Lots of love xx

  2. Adore all these skin products. Haven't tried the maybelline liner, but trying to find a cheaper dupe for the bobbi brown so will give it a try. xxx
