FAVOURITES WEEK | DRUGSTORE MAKE UP

More of my make up favourites today, and this time I'm talking about my most loved bits from the drugstore.  Too often I pop into Boots for something like hay fever tablets or cotton wool, and end up leaving with for or five new lipstick that I definitely did not need!  There is always something new to be found from the high street, and it's always the best feeling to pick up a few things and still leave with a bit of change.
I've chosen some of the products that I love the most, and the ones that I wouldn't hesitate to repurchase in future.

The award for the prettiest blush ever goes to Essence Heat Wave, which is a mix of a bright pink and orange and looks like the definition of a tropical holiday.  I love this blush, and really like how it can be subtle or built up to more of a pop of colour on your cheeks.
L'Oreal Infallible 24h Matte foundation is everyone's favourite right now I think, and I can totally see why.  The formula is pretty light considering it gives medium to full coverage, and it really does stay put for most of the day; I haven't tested it for 24 hours but it looks pretty near perfect after 8 so it's a winner in my book!
Maybelline The Nudes is the only neutral eyeshadow palette you need right now.  It has a  selection of matte and shimmer bronze shades that can create endless different looks, and at only £9.99 it is quite the bargain.  The quality of the eye shadows is excellent considering the price - the colour payoff is impressive on every single one.
Bourjois Java Rice Powder is a high end product disguised as a drug store one in my opinion.  The finely milled and ever-so-slightly shimmery powder sets my base nicely without feeling heavy or sinking in to my pores as the day goes on.
Maxfactor Masterpiece Max mascara is probably the single most repurchased item I own.  I have lost count how many of these I have gone through over the years, and what I love most is the jet black colour and how I don't need to curl my eyelashes to get any kind of effect out of it.
I have banged on about these enough on this blog over the last few months, but Maybelline Color Drama Velvet Lip Pencils are holy grail material, at only £4.99 each.  The selection of colours mean there is something for everyone, and my favourite is Fab Orange which is in the photo - a vibrant satsuma shade which doesn't budge all day.
Yet another Maybelline favourite is the Colour Sensational lipstick in the shade Tantalising Taupe - a creamy nude that I wear for work.  The finish is satin and almost glossy, and it feels super moisturising on my lips too.
Last up is of course my beloved Barry M Gelly Nail Paint!  I love adding to my collection of these polishes, and my favourite for summer to complement my fake tan is coconut, which is a brilliant off-white that manages to not look at all like tip-ex!

Picking just a few drugstore favourites was probably the hardest post to do, as I love so many brands and products.  Let me know what yours are!  My next post will be on my favourite high end skin care! xx

  4. I absolutely love Coconut! It's a polish that I've had to repurchase - which is a first ever for me. I haven't heard of Essence before but I'll have to take a look now! Your photos are always stunning - love how crisp they are.
