THE SIMPLEST MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE

It's not that often that I post about my skincare, mainly because I know that I am no expert and feel that my routines are not really worth writing about.  I have had a lot of trouble with spots on my chin lately (which are likely to be caused by my god awful diet) and while my main remedy for these must be to eat better and drink more water, there are a few products that I've been using lately that I definitely think have helped to calm my skin down and get it into a much better condition.

I've kept it to the few bits I use in the morning right now - I'll do a night time skincare routine separately.  I first wash my face with the Super Facialist by Una Brennan Tea Flower Cleansing Wash.  It contains Salicylic Acid which is said to help get rid of spots; I only use a little, and it feels really gentle and leaves my skin feeling really clean and soft.  This paves the way for my moisturiser, which at the moment is No.7 Beautiful Skin day cream SPF 15.  This is always my go-to when I am having a bad time with my skin as it is hypo allergenic and therefore won't irritate my skin at all.  This one is ideal for normal to oily skin, which is what mine is, and it moisturises without leaving it feeling greasy or like it will slide off within an hour.

since I've recently hit 25, I've started thinking more about taking care of my skin and trying to prevent any unnecessary damage caused by the Sun etc.  I decided to invest in the Clinique Superdefense SPF 20 eye cream, which gives added sun protection to the delicate eye area and helps to prevent any little signs of ageing (it's no miracle but every little helps right?!).  Again, this is non greasy and absorbs quickly so that make up can be applied over the top of it.

Lastly, while I'm applying the rest of my make up I leave some of the Nivea Hydro Care SPF 15 lip balm on my lips so that they are soft and in the perfect condition for adding lipstick to them .  Dry and chapped lips can be a pain at any time of the year so I always carry this in my make up bag to prevent being caught out!

There is my fairly basic routine; it probably should be a little more extensive than that, but sometimes I find that less is more when it comes to your skin and when it is being troublesome it's best to strip your products down and use as few as possible!

What are your morning skincare essentials?  Do you use any of these products? xx
